I've not been a patient of his but I agree with his approach and will certainly support him if it's relevant for a non patient to do so (can't get access to the link at the mo to check it out). 

This disease can take a lot from sufferers when we have to wait for TSH to go out of range.  For me it was at least 10 years of downward spiral and I know some have it a lot tougher than that.  Ultimately people's health is what's important of course, but if I'd had a doctor with Dr Skinner's mindset when I first took unwell, I'd maybe still have a career, home, pension...  and the NHS would be somewhat richer!  sp016

I will certainly be writing a letter of support for Dr Skinner because he saved my life and then helped give me the one i probably should have had all my life. I can never go back to feeling the way i did,physicaly is bad enough, but i cannot and will not go back to suffering the constant anxiety and bouts of depression i used to have. I have had the best mental health i can ever remember and that is a precious gift to me and one which i will fight to keep.

Please please write a letter of support even if you aren't one of his patients, because he is one of the few doctors in the Uk who will actually listen to you the person and he will allow you to work with him to get the optimal health that you need. The mere fact that he has been willing to stand in the firing line for thyroid patients speaks volumes about the man dont you think?

I am one of those people who's blood tests are always "normal" and so if i cannot get my thyroid meds and steroids prescribed by Dr Skinner im going to have start again to find another doctor who will prescribe them for me. I know there are some in the Uk and i'll even go to Belgium to see Dr Hertoghe if i have to but to be honest im sick of having to panic every few years  when the GMC are involved...its hard enough living with a chronic condition without this hanging over everyone who is a patient of his.

Stand up for potential future thyroid patients who may need to see someone like Dr Skinner, because if they take any further action against him and he loses then the thyroid commumity loses a great ally...and as we on this forum know that would be a disaster for so many people.
