What medication were you given instead of Thyroid meds
Dawn:
Given we ahve been told they won't reduce the ref range in line wiht other countries due to free prescriptions I'm trying to get a picture of the cost of not doing so, I've someone interested in takign this further so it could prove valuable
can you please list here any medication you were given, instead of beign diagnosed with TD, to treat your symptoms even though you were symptomatic, if possible can you also lsit your tsh levels at teh time as well and any ops you may have had to alleviate prolems which were symtpoms.
Once we have a list of different ones I will do a poll and see jsut how many folks have been given them
thanks

Chatcommander:
Ear spray for itchy ears which I now know is due to dry skin.
Intense physiotherapy for tendonitis on shoulder with talk of an operation
Was prescribed HRT (premarin) because of low mood, lack of motivation - and my TSH was 3.1 (which I didn't know at the time)
Then I saw an NHS Counsellor for 4 sessions.
Then was prescribed citalopram anti-depressants because HRT made no difference and TSH was 7.1 but was told that I was NOT hypothyroid
