I have been to a couple of conferences now regarding this and yesterday this http://www.informationprescription.info/. It will start to change things as patients we are having much more say and there is an impetus from the DOH that those with long term conditions take charge of their own health in conjuction with the NHS as opposes the the situation so far. There are a number of gps etc coming around to this but it will take time.

the comparing hospitals might be an interesting feature on their site
